Conversion of the main passenger cabin to a class E cargo compartment for the carriage of freight and change to the location of rapid decompression vents for planned future bulk cargo loading operations.
Some of the main design changes include:
• Air con- Rework of the air-conditioning system installs a shut off valve into the cross-over duct beween the right and left had main distribution ducts, located under the main cargo compartment floor, with an operating lever located in the flight deck.
• Coms- Removal of passenger address system
• Electrical power- Wiring to aft toilet is capped and stowed. All circuit breakers associated with this equipment will be removed from circuit breaker panel and placarded accordingly.
• Equipment and furnishings- Removal of cabin carpet, seat assemblies, aft toilet assembly and deactivation of passenger oxygen line (IAW SAAB standard maintenance practices).
• Fire protection- Class ‘E’ smoke detector (5 units installed)
• Lighting- 8 lamp box assemblies along the length of the main cabin. Two forward boxes in the vestibule area contain both main and emergency lights. Remaining light boxes
• Oxygen- Passenger oxygen distribution units removed. Flight crew oxygen stays the same.
• Water waste- Toilet water drainpipe work is removed, blanking plates installed.
• Over wing emergency exit doors- Deactivated by installation of locking device to prevent attempted opening during service.
