Description of Change:
The change consists of a replacement/upgrade of the existing transponder/s (Single or dual) to include ADS-B functionality according Minimum Operational Performace Standards (DO-260B MOPS). To comply with the ADS-B (DO-260V) requirements (per CS-ACNS) the unit should hold an EASA equipment authorisation in accordance with ETSO-C166b and ETSO-C112d.
In addition the CS-ACNS requests an ADS-B Fail annunciation. Additional ADS-B Fail annunciator will be installed in instrument panel.
The STC 10059536 involves the following Types of Aircraft
The initial change consists of:
The ADS-B Fail / XPDR Fail Annunciator will be installed in the centre instrument panel to inform pilot about the XPDR and ADS-B function failures of the selected XPDR.
The TRD-94D provides the information about the XPDR Failure as a discrete signal which is connected to XPDR Fail annunciator light. The ADS-B function status is transmitted from TDR-94D only via Arinc 429 output. To drive the ADS-B
Fail annunciator light an A429 to Discrete Converter (including logic relays to relay the ADS-B Fail annunciator to the selected transponder) will be installed. The A429 to Discrete Converter is looking for Arinc 429 label 353 (bit 20 - which
defines the ADS-B function status) and converts it to a discrete signal connected to ADS-B Fail annunciator light.
