Replacement of existing CVR for a new 120min type in Part 25 aircraft

The purpose of this change is to create an AML change by designing and certifying an approved documentation for the installation of upgraded version of the existing approved Cockpit Voice Recorder to meet the requirements of Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/2338 amending Regulation (EU) No 965/2012 as regards requirements for flight recorders, underwater locating devices and aircraft tracking systems. 

The equipment fulfills:

• 2 hours recording / retaining time as per CAT.EDE.A 185 (c)(2)
• CVR records on means other than magnetic tape or magnetic wire meeting CAT.IDE.A185(d).
• Minimum underwater transmission time of 90 days is met as per CAT.IDE.A.185 (h)

• The new CVR is identical in form dimensions (fit existing rack) and have lower/same weight. Therefor no change is necessary to the CVR installation.
• The CVR controller can be replaced withouth mechanical changes
• No electrical change: the existing installation fits the new recorder
