The TrueNorth GSM system allows passengers to use their own mobile phone or T-PED (Transmitting Personal Electronic Device) while in flight for voice and IP data services. Both GSM (voice and text) and GPRS (data) protocols are supported.
Product Description
The TrueNorth GSM system is designed to be connected to a Broadband system (SwiftBroadband, Ku, or Ka band), to allow the use of GSM capable cell phones on-board an aircraft while in flight. Once on the aircraft, a user's cell phone registers with the TrueNorth GSM system. The user will then have the ability to use their personal cell phone to make calls throughout the duration of the flight.
