This design installs two mechanical holders (left and righ hand sides) for the use of a portable EFB system based on Tablet computers, currently:
• Microsoft Surface Pro 3 / Pro 4, 12.3ʺ
• Panasonic Toughpad, 10.1ʺ
• Apple iPad Air / Air 2, 9.7ʺ
When implementing EFB system to flight operation a fixed position in the cockpit for easy access to the tablet is needed.
To ensure no negative affect on flight safety when installing EFB tablet holders in cockpit an EASA approved STC is the right choice.
The Tablet EFBs (left and right hand side) is installed on the window frames in a Tablet holder which is connected through a Swivel mount to the Window mount, which includes a mechanism to toggle the position between stowage position (aft) and operating position (fwd). The main purpose of the Window mount mechanism is to provide a stowage position to enable free access to the window opening handle (emergency exit). Mandatory instructions are given in Flight Manual Supplement, issued by BAM
