The Honeywell DU-875 display upgrade replaces old cathode ray tubes (CRT) with modern liquid crystal displays (LCD).
The Honeywell DU-875 'one-for-one' upgrade option is now available for operators wanting a lowercost, building block approach to future growth (Primus Elite & Primus Elite Advanced Features) and solve DU-870 obsolescence today. Honeywell provides a simple “plug and play” DU-875 replacement solution. The DU-875 can be installed quickly and easily in the DU-870 tray with no wiring changes.

Your needs
The DU-875 form, fit and function replacement of DU-870 is simple, fast and modular in such as the units can be replaced either by attrition or in full cockpit batches (3-5 units depending on aircraft model).
No pilot training required due to retention of current display formats, symbology and colour sets while the image quality is increased.
The DU-875 comes with a matte screen appearance to reduce glare.
DU-875 LCD technology provides superior picture contrast and resolution compared to DU-870 CRT, for enhanced pilots’ experience and situation awareness.
Weight per unit is reduced by 7lbs., no cooling system required and reliability is 2-fold that of CRT units.

Product Description
System description and architecture The DU-875 is a LCD based replacement Display Unit for the CRT based DU-870. There are no changes to the existing aircraft wiring or Display Unit mounting for the direct retrofit.
The DU-875 uses a “translator” that converts existing graphics commands from the Integrated Avionics Computer (IAC) to graphics commands that are recognized by an LCD graphics generator. The DU-875 is a “smart” display containing the internal graphics engines necessary to drive the LCD screen that are controlled by the IAC HDLC display bus. The Existing Core Graphics System (CGS) commands from the IAC HDLC bus drive stroke-and-raster data into the DU-875 translator function to display legacy formats for each DU position.
