Rockwell Collins SATCOM is one of the few leading systems that is approved to DO-178B Level D software certification to be used in flight deck applications such as FANS data link.

This EASA approved modification covers upgrade of Rockwell Collins SAT-2100/-6100 dual channel Satcom Swift64 to dual channel Swift Broadband, including EMTEQ eConnect Wi-Fi Router installation.
Originally installed WLU-2100 Wi-Fi access point is removed and replaced by EMTEQ eConnect Wi-Fi Router, which in combination with preloaded Satcom1 AvioIP communication software enables following advanced communication features:
> possibility to use passengers' own smartphones for on-board voice communication (in-flight and on ground)
> selective bandwidth management for VIP and Guests with different service profiles
> the latest technology in data compression and acceleration
> dual channel aggregation with guaranteed quality of service and throughput of 700Kbps to 800Kbps
Satcom Swift Broadband upgrade consists of:
- Replacement of existing DLNA Type A by DLNA Type F
- Replacement of existing SRT-2100 by Swift Broadband upgraded SRT-2100B
- Replacement of two existing HST-2110 by two Swift Broadband upgraded HST-2110B
- Installation of one new high-speed configuration module HCM
- Replacement of existing CTU Aerocom 3000 by ISDN/Rev.T upgraded CTU
- Necessary modification on coax and wires
- Rockwell Collins cabin CES/CMS software upgrade (specific for every aircraft)
AMT-50 Antenna system is completely re-used, except of new DLNA Type F
This RUAG EASA Approved modification (EASA Minor Change) is automatically validated by US FAA and Canadian TCCA in accordance with existing EASA-FAA and EASA-TCCA bilateral agreements. Refer to "Validations".
