Product Description

A multi-function ladder for access to the aft baggage area and the APU bay

This modification installs a multi-purpose ladder (the Faraone TT44 ) in the aft equipment bay. This ladder can for example be used to get access to the aft baggage area, the APU bay and the engine cowlings. The ladder will be installed in the aft equipment bay. It can easily be removed and stowed, via the aft equipment bay hatch, using guidance rails and a lock and release mechanism.

Door locks on external access doors

The Service door and the Emergency exit hatches are locked by means of pins inserted in the operating mechanism from inside the cabin. These will be provided with a safety tag. All other doors are locked by means of a cylindrical type lock in the door-operating handle, locked from outside the aircraft with a key. All locks will be keyed the same.

Safety Pin Stowage

To stow safety pins, e.g. the ground safety locks of the nose and main gear, or the lock pins+ safety tag of the service door and emergency escape hatches (see previous chapter), containers can be installed in the side of the passenger door, one on the fwd facing side and one on the aft facing side, ref the figure below. The (cylindrical) containers are closed by a small access panel with standard latch.

A stowage in the aft cargo compartment

To increase stowage capacity in the aircraft a stowage unit can be installed in the aft cargo bay.

Internal baggage bay access door

The get access to the aft baggage bay compartment, the existing access panel to the cargo compartment can be removed and replaced with a hinged door, size 18.77” x 47.24”. A door seal will prevent smoke and fire extinguisher agent penetration from the baggage bay in the cabin area.

The large existing decompression panel will be relocated to the new access door. A lateral net will protect the decompression panel from being blocked by cargo. A dedicated stand-alone door lock warning system will be installed. The warning light, installed in the pedestal on the flight deck, will illuminate when the access door is not closed and locked. The ‘aft baggage bay fire’ procedures in the AFM will be updated to the new configuration.

Aft Baggage Bay Internal Door Handle

This modification enables opening the aft baggage bay door from the inside. A guard will be placed on the inboard door-operating lever, such that the lever cannot be operated inadvertently by baggage moving during flight. The guard also provides direct visual reference for the fully closed and locked position of the operating handle

Provisions for GSE in the forward baggage bay

Provisions can be provided to stow parts of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) in the fwd baggage bay. The provisions are for:

  • Spare nose wheel:        206K03-1
  • Towbar head:               01-0586-0000
  • Towbar                        01-1215-0000
  • Jack pump                   02-7854-0110

The toolbox is positioned on top of the nose wheel. Both items are fixed by a strap that is connected to the structure on 3 points. Both parts of the jack are fixed in the same way. One side of the jack part is positioned in a fixed adapter. An adjustable adapter fixes the other side.

The towbar is slid under a fixed ring and positioned on top of round adapter. The Towbar is fixed on an adapter by placing a quick release pin. Towbar head is positioned in the adapters and fixed by a strap at all three places.

Iridium based telephone system

This modification introduces the AirCell Axxess system. The AirCell Axxess Satellite Telephone system provides two-way communications from the aircraft, including voice over Iridium or data connection over Iridium. The Iridium network provides global coverage on the ground or in the air, for virtually all land masses, oceans, and even Polar Regions.

New Interior Shell

To create an Executive/VIP type of ambience a new interior shell can be installed. We can provide the design, integration and certification of such a new interior shell, consisting of:

  • Sidewall panels with electrically operated window shades
  • Ceiling
  • PSU/Cove panels
  • Air ducts
  • Ceiling panels

Finishing of these parts can be customized with decorative materials matching other interior parts like seats and monuments. Reading lights, speakers, oxygen boxes, air gasper etc. will be nicely integrated in the PSU/Cove panels. Also on other panels electrical components will be installed, e.g. window shade switches, entertainment speakers, passenger warning signs, (emergency) lighting units etc.  Credenzas (side ledges) can also be offered.

The exact configuration of the lining kit will be adapted to suit the customer’s layout.

Noise reduction package, - 2dB SIL

To lower the internal noise levels for improving comfort in the cabin areas, FS can design, engineer (and install) noise reduction improvements. Noise reduction measures are:

  • Skin damping on noise-critical areas of the aircraft
  • Sound proofing between the frames
  • Damping material on aft pressure bulkhead
  • Damping material on interior bulkheads
  • Under-carpet and barrier layer on floor
  • Damping material on rear of monuments
  • Treatment of landing gear bay

Obtainable sound levels are very much dependent on aircraft configuration (incl. vibration level engines). A target for the average noise level in the cabin of a typical VIP aircraft is 53 +/ - 2dB SIL
