Introduction

For operators looking to access more airports, increase safety, reduce crew workload or meet the changing regulatory compliance and airspace requirements, the Honeywell FMZ-2000 flight management system (FMS) version 6.1 upgrade contains significant improvements to the FMS and other navigation systems.

Your needs

The lower minimums provided by LPV approaches could mean the difference between landing at their desired airport or diverting to an alternate airport, due to lower minimums that are below requirements for normal non-precision approaches and during ILS outages.

Your benefits

  • WAAS-LPV - allows for aircraft to receive and process the GPS-WAAS signal and to fly the new LPV approaches (and growth to the new LPV approaches in Europe under EGNOS)
  • Vectors to Final Approach - this operation is used when transitioning from LNAV to HDG mode. It allows the flight crew to comply with ATC-directed vectoring in the terminal area by removing unneeded approach waypoints from the flight plan

Navigation database enhancements for:

  • Circle-to-land procedures
  • TACAN approaches
  • Multi-RNAV runways – now allows “GPS Y and GPS Z Rwy 31L” (example) procedures to be accessed.
  • Enroute holding procedures - allow the database to select a published holding procedure or insert a manual hold into the flight plan at any waypoint.
  • Field loadable TOLD database – provides Take Off and Landing Data performance.

Product Description

For more than 20 years, our FMZ-2000 has been the FMS of choice for pilots and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). This latest upgrade builds on that legacy of value and delivers superior performance to continually exceed the requirements of modern airspace.
