The Collins FDS-2000 Flight Display System brings new state-of-the-art technology to current generation flight decks, providing advanced capabilities for the communications, navigation, surveillance/air traffic management (CNS/ATM) environment. The FDS-2000 is designed with the flexibility to meet various flight deck configurations and applications. System components include adaptive flight displays (AFDs), a display control panel (DCP) and data concentrator unit (DCU).
The system’s ADI and HSI display can combine ADI and HSI functionality into a single, compact format. The HSI and MFD include advanced graphics capabilities to support the display of terrain, weather radar and traffic collision avoidance information (TCAS II), flight management system (FMS) maps and other advanced information. The use of active matrix liquid crystal display (AMLCD) technology provides sharp, bright displays that deliver wider viewing angles and improved reliability at a lower cost.
The AFD-2000A Adaptive Flight Displays are designed as functional replacements for conventional flight director indicators. Adaptable to multiple display configurations, the AFD-2000A can be configured as an attitude direction indicator (ADI) or horizontal situation indicator (HSI) flight director instrument or multifunction display (MFD).
