Product Description
This modification was issued upon request to replace the existing Aircraft Communications, Addressing and Reporting
System (ACARS) Management Unit (MU) with a Rockwell Collins DLM-900 ACARS MU which allows user modifiable
software to be installed. The user modifiable software can be downloaded with the use of the Airborne Data Loader (ADL)
in the flight compartment.
The new ACARS MU meets the Aircraft Equipment Interoperability Test (AEIT) requirements. It also supports the Flight
Management Computer (FMC) Air Traffic Services (ATS) features of Future Air Navigation System (FANS).
In the main equipment center, E2-5 shelf, wire changes between the M4250 Wire Integration Unit (WIU) and the ACARS
MU is necessary and replacement of the ACARS MU.
